Integrating BigBlueButton through LTI 1.3

BigBlueButton an open source virtual classroom software developed for virtual learning and education, has enhanced its Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integration by incorporating support for LTI 1.3, also known as LTI Advantage. This advancement brings a suite of new capabilities to improve the integration and user experience for educational platforms.

About Jesus Federico
Jesus Federico is an IT professional with 20+ years of experience in IT Project Management, Software Development, and Infrastructure Administration. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in E-Commerce. He has been working for Blindside Networks for over 12 years, currently as Director of Products and Services, and before this he held the position of Senior Software Engineer. Furthermore, he is also part of the core contributors to the BigBlueButton Project, leading the development of Integrations with third party applications such as Moodle, Sakai, Canvas and OpenEdX. This has given him hands-on experience with a number of different technologies that include programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Javascript, PHP, Python and others. He has also worked with MVC frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, Django, Grails and others. Jesus is passionate about technology and is an active advocate of Open Source in education.

About Mariam Almalki

Mariam Almalki is a Software Engineer at Blindside Networks that primarily works on developing the LTI applications that allow for BigBlueButton to be integrated within learning management systems.
