An Update on Integration with LiveKit

This session will provide an update on the ongoing work to integrate LiveKit into BigBlueButton as its main RTC framework. Topics to be covered include: a brief recap of our RTC stack, the work done over the past two developer summits to integrate LiveKit and what can be expected for the remainder of 2024.

About Paulo Lanzarin

Paulo Lanzarin is a software developer at Mconf Tecnologia (Porto Alegre, Brazil). He has been involved with the BigBlueButton project since 2017, his main focus has been on the project's real-time communication capabilities. He has participated in BigBlueButton's transition from the Flash-based RTC framework to WebRTC as well as the subsequent switch from Kurento to mediasoup, and is eager to do it once again with LiveKit.
